At the center of the fundraiser was a raffle featuring five different themed gift baskets that were given away on December 4th at the PAWS booth in the Holiday Sharing Village after the Lighted Christmas Parade. Baskets were valued from between $300.00 to over $1,000.00 and had something for everyone, including a B&B stay with wine tastings, a spa package, a fun pack which includes a Hero Go Pro3 camera, an electric meat smoker basket, a pet themed basket and more.
The kickoff for this event was held on Saturday, September 26th. PAWS set up their booth in front of Chase Bank, and offered up fresh, home baked cookies, ice cold bottled water, PAWS caps, hand sewn pet leashes, and unique items made from recycled feed sacks, including a variety of tote bags, reusable shopping bags, and all-purpose aprons. Items ranged in price from $10.00-25.00.
PAWS volunteers were out in force during October and November making appearances at ACE Hardware, Lochte Feed and General Store, Just-Pop-N, Chase Bank and the future site of the Fredericksburg Dog Park at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park.
December 4th was the final event of the season and the night of the raffle drawing.

PAWS thanks the incredible support of the community, local businesses, FFAS and most of all, our volunteers who have, in so many different ways, helped PAWS achieve our goals and put the FUN in fundraiser. As a result of this community effort, PAWS was able to raise over $10,000.00 in sales and donations. That will cover almost two months’ worth of expenses, helping a number of cats, dogs and their human companions. THANK YOU for sharing in our mission to reduce animal overpopulation in Gillespie County.
